IFMCH opened an outpatients clinic in Mirpur Sakro, Thatta, Sindh, Pakistan on 3rd March 2013. The clinic treats the women and children free of cost; people travel several kilometres to utilise this service. The clinic provides clean medical facilities and is staffed with a fully qualified doctor. Prior to us opening the clinic the facilities that were available to the locals were typically inadequate unsterile and run by under-qualified/bogus staff. In addition to the lack of satisfactory facilities, the majority of locals were unable to afford to pay for even the most basic medical treatment.
As well as providing free medical treatments and medicines, since 2015 the OPD clinic has been providing free blood tests to patients to assist in diagnosis. The clinic creates patient records and logs the treatments for all the patients that come through its door. Each patient is given its own registration which enables the doctor to check patient history and refer on to more specialist treatment if required.
