5 Effective Tips to Take Care of Your One Month Old Baby

A one month old baby has uncertain sleeping patterns and need frequent feeding. If you are a first time mother of a one month old baby, you must be extremely confused about her safety and development. You must be looking for information about everything. Your worries end here as we have gathered some useful tips that can give you a helping hand in taking care of your little angel.

So here are some important tips for your one month baby to help you keep your baby healthy, safe and sound:

  1. Let the baby sleep whenever he likes

Taking care of the sleep patterns of a one month old baby is important. They do not have a set sleep timings. They can fall asleep at any hour of the day. Allow your one month old angel to sleep whenever he likes. Be vigilant about the hints that he gives when he becomes sleepy and wants to sleep. Most of the babies sleep after their feed. After you are done feeding your baby, simply put him in a cradle. Don’t try to control his sleeping patterns so soon.

  1. Keep the baby safe

Keep the baby crib at a safe location. Make sure you don’t keep it near the window so that dust, rain and other elements entering from the windows doesn’t harm your baby. Moreover, do not keep toys or any other objects inside the baby crib. When you decide to take your baby out in a pram, do not forget to use a safety harness. Furthermore, do not hold your baby in one if he is too small and always support the neck. Use both your hand to hold your child. When you place your child on the couch to change, make sure you keep one hand on him all the time because infants have this habit of wiggling and squirming.

  1. Maintain cleanliness and ensure medical care

Your baby needs her first immunization with a month right after his birth. You have to talk to your doctor about all the vaccinations your baby requires at this stage. Your baby does not have strong immune system right now. Don’t let him come in contact with an infected person. Make sure you maintain cleanliness of your baby. Keep changing and checking his diaper every now and then. Wash your hands before you handle your baby or his things.

  1. Feed your baby frequently

You have to feed your newborns many times a day. Make sure you feed your one month old baby a minimum of six times in a day. If you are solely breastfeeding your baby and not giving him bottle feed at all, increase the feed to about twelve times a day. Just like the sleeping time, don’t try to control feeding times so soon as well. Babies can have uncertain and unpredictable feeding and sleeping routine.

  1. Interact and play with your little one

You might think babies don’t want to interact but they love it when you interact with them. Talk to your little baby whenever he is awake. Take his name and play music to grab his attention. Babies love it when you place them on their tummies. Keep them that way for a short while. A supervised tummy time daily can help to strengthen the neck and upper body. You can play with them using colorful and sound producing toys. Baby crib toys, teethers and rattles are a great choice to interact and entertain your baby.
